Blue: The Life of S. Carter
The project asked for us to pick a subject, and layout a design with researched content. I chose to focus on the background and elevation of Sean Carter aka HOVA aka Jigga aka JayZ.

THE CONCEPT
Influenced by where it all began, the Marcy Projects (also Google Earth). I used the building shapes throughout to be a visual cue to represent his foundation remaining with him.
The color and the name blue speaks for itself.
THE CONCLUSION
I wanted to pair that foundation with an luxurious typeface that represented new chapters in the book and his life, each named after a relative song name.
This project was fun and has made me extremely interested in editorial design. However book binding may have to get passed off to some pros because mine fell apart when I presented it :(
